ordered a builder to refund Rs.5 lakh plus an interest of Rs.14.5 lakh
to Samuel Dorman, a customer, for not handing over the possession of a
flat that he had booked in 1995. After booking the flat, Dorman learnt
that the builder had entered into an agreement with another person to
complete the construction. He sent the builder a legal notice to seek

since Dorman did not pay the total amount, the possession was not given
to him.

amount of Rs.5 lakh with the interest of Rs.14 lakh, which is attracted
from the time the amount was paid and not when the consumer filed the
complaint.
