Reportedly, Facebook and Telegram failed to delete the illegal content from their respective platforms. The fine imposed on Facebook is $81,350 and the fine imposed on Telegram is $149,160. There has not been any response from either of the companies. Based on a similar policy, Twitter is being said to be next in the line for the Russian Court.

Before Russia, many other countries - including the United Kingdom - have asked Facebook, Telegram, and Twitter to regulate the content on their respective platforms more strictly. The United Kingdom has specifically asked social media companies to remove every content that is related to racism and hate speech.

If the social media companies fail to follow the order, then they would be fined 10% of their global revenue.
