The members of the security research team identified the flaw, named PrintNightmare after they accidentally published a Proof-of-Concept (PoC) exploit code. Reportedly, the flaw can let hackers access the affected or most vulnerable systems to install programs, modify data, and create new accounts with full admin rights. It is recommended to let Microsoft update your Windows service as hackers can perform all the malicious activities from anywhere in the world and affect your system.
Microsoft has rolled out the patch for Windows 10, Windows 7, Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 12 R2, Windows Server 2008, Windows 8.1, and Windows RT 8.1.
Microsoft is planning to roll out the patch for Windows 2012, Windows 2016, and 1607 version of Windows 10 as early as possible.
